Remember, when Wenckebach testing is started, the pacing rate (S1) is above the rate of the patient's intrinsic rhythm. During the deliveries, the 1:1 conduction is verified. Then the pacing cycle length is decreased and the process is repeated. The protocol will be stopped when a response in the conduction is missed; this is the Wenckebach point.
